Parental consent template
A form schools can send to families. In legal review — here is how consent works in the product today.
This document is not final
It is being reviewed by a lawyer and is not published as an agreement. If you need it now, write to us and we will send the current draft, marked as a draft.
Ask us for itWhat the template will be
A form a school can send to parents, in plain language, explaining what Spontar is, what it records, what it never does, and asking for consent — with a version in the language the school actually uses with families.
How consent works in the product today
Consent is institution-mediated. The school holds the relationship with the family and keeps it; the software records that consent exists, by what method, and who confirmed it. We never contact a family.
Where a group contains anyone under sixteen in the EU or under thirteen in the US, a session cannot be started until consent is recorded for every student on the roster, and the refusal names exactly who is missing. A group whose age band is "mixed" is treated as containing the youngest possible member, because the safe reading is the one that does not depend on being told.
Withdrawing consent deletes the record rather than flagging it, and the session gate closes again immediately.
Why the template is not published
Because what it has to say differs by jurisdiction, and a form that is adequate in Baden- Württemberg may not be in California. Ask us and we will send the current draft with your jurisdiction's specifics, marked as a draft.
